A Note From Wahiba

I believe that early childhood education is so important for children. It lays the foundation for their entire lives. This is why I have chosen the profession of daycare provider. Through my curriculum, the children are ready for elementary school and all the experiences that come with it. I believe that young children learn through imaginative play, make believe, and pretend.

It is important for young children's healthy development to have free play as it helps create social skills. As an educator, I love to see children learn to be able to play for long periods of time. By by learning to entertain themselves, they gain independence and also build their persistence. The children also learn to interact with others who are different from themselves. They learn the difference between positive and negative behavior and how each one delivers different results.

The children are constantly stimulated with activities of learning and growing. Through arts-and-crafts; children learn to use their imagination by creating wonderful works of art, which adorn the walls of my day care. Through games, dependent on the ages, the children are challenged mentally.

As a family run daycare, I believe in offering my clients something special. Children are offered a rigorous curriculum and a family-friendly atmosphere similiar to their own home. I strive to make each child feel comfortable and a part of my family.

Some children refer to me as their aunt, which touches my heart. I have stayed in touch with a few of my older clients. In fact, my first client just turned 22 and we actively communicate. Child care is personal for me and it doesn't end doesn’t end once the child leaves my center. As they learn and grow in my care, I feel as if my own family is growing.
